Mount Rainier National Park

Got to spend one end-of-summer Saturday in Mount Rainier NP.  Cloudy, rainy, cold, windy and later in the day crowded.  Still, what an awesome place and had a great time.

Along the trail to Burroughs Mountain, Sunrise area

Amazing views of Rainier along the trail

The area is similar to an Arctic environment; amazingly easy to access

Mount Rainier across the tundra

The last bit before final 2nd Burroughs peak

2nd Burroughs

It feels like you can touch Rainier while standing on 2nd Burroughs

Amazing place to stand; cold and uber windy

We went back down to 1st Burroughs and took the Sunrise trail to make a loop.  Really beautiful trail and less crowded.

Steep slope

Really beautiful trail

Glacier coming off of Ranier

Lake near campground

Wasp nest along trail.  It's active - zoom in and you can see a wasp slowly working in the 50f temps

Need to look this one up.  Cool, big plant

After being on the tundra, the subalpine zones are so pleasant

End of summer flowers

Rainier got increasingly cloud covered

Awesome bridge over ??

Amazing canyon that is basically a crack it is so deep and skinny

Another shot from the bridge

Summer flowers in Paradise parking lot

Between parking lots in Paradise

Paradise Lodge in the typical Cascades mist
